I believe one important advantage of bigger companies is that their GMP processes are broad, well established and regulated/inspected. Smaller companies may work on very specific niches and regulations, depending on the company a good way to start as it's a smaller universe. Start-ups, on the other hand, are more innovation-minded and may offer more challenges in terms of GMP (which would mean it should be great for people with experience to implement the necessary processes, but not ideal for young professionals who need to learn/live GMP, if we're thinking about regulatory/quality focus).
